The Australian Commonwealth
Games Association (ACGA) is the national body responsible
for Commonwealth Games operations, publicity and development
in Australia, specifically providing and organising funding,
clothing, travel, accommodation and accreditation of athletes
and officials to each Commonwealth Games. The ACGA is
both an incorporated association and a non-profit organisation. |

PUNE YOUTH GAMES 2008
Pune in India will play host to the 2008 Commonwealth
Youth Games. Pune is located in western India and has
a population of over 3 million, a third of which is made
up of youth, making it the perfect venue for a Youth Games.
The games will take place between 12 – 18 October
2008.
Pune will have nine sports on the program including; athletics,
badminton, boxing, swimming, table tennis, tennis, weightlifting
and wrestling. Pune will make use of existing venues to
host all sports. 1300 athletes from 71 Commonwealth nations
are expected to take part.

DELHI 2010
At the CGF Assembly in November 2003 Delhi won the right
to host the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Delhi is the capital
of India and has a population of approximately 13.8
million. 2010 will be only the second time that an Asian
country has hosted the Games, with Kuala Lumpar being
the first in 1998.
The 2010 games are to be held from 3-14 October. There
will be 17 sports on the program for Delhi, these include;
Archery, Aquatics, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling,
Gymnastics, Hockey, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Rugby 7s, Shooting,
Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Weightlifting and Wrestling.
The program will also include Elite Athletes with a
Disability (EAD) Events. New and existing venues
will be used to host the 17 sports. Delhi will also
see the construction of a new low rise development in
the heart of the capital for the athletes village. The
village will be on 40 acres and have a capacity to host
approximately 8,500 athletes and officials.

Glasgow 2014
On November 9, 2007 at the General Assembly of the Commonwealth
Games Federation (CGF), Glasgow was named as the host
of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
All 71 Commonwealth nations and territories voted with
Glasgow securing the bid 47 votes to 24 over Abuja,
the capital of Nigeria.
Scotland last hosted the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh
in 1986.
Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and it will
host the Games from July 23 to August 4, 2014.
